Item Descriptions

Some items I've come up with demonstrating short descriptive and mechanical text.

A chest made of twisted roots

The Chest Nut

These simple looking chestnuts would contain valuable gifts from the fey of the Summer Court, usually given in thanks of service, and occasionally discarded by owners too foolish to know their true value.

Within a minute of planting this chestnut in a patch of earth, a sapling emerges, rapidly growing into an intricate chest of knotted roots. Upon closing the lid, the chest and any contents placed within wither and leave behind a single chestnut. The contents can be accessed again by repeating the planting process.

Correctional Fluid

Originally intended to repurpose unused scrolls by frugal mages, this chalk-white ink has proven useful to many a clever magic-user.

When used on an existing magical scroll, the editor may add, remove, or change the letters of the scroll's title, possibly changing the effect of the spell completely, but always of equal or lesser power than the original spell. Consult with your DM to agree on potential changes.

Vials typically have enough ink to change up to 10 letters before the ink's magic is depleted.

A copper ewer with yellowed chunky milk pouring out

The Ewer of Endless Milk

Created by the inept hedge-wizard Hazmut in an attempt to monopolize the local dairy trade, the milk that pours from this copper ewer has long soured. Now only a stream of sludge spills forth in irregular chunks.

When opened and  chucked forth, the user and any living creature in a 15-foot cone must make a DC14 Constitution saving throw or spend their next action retching and become poisoned. A  creature may attempt a saving throw at the end of its turn to end the poison effect.

The contents of this pungent ewer replenish at dawn.

The Adder's Reply

I told you, I have no idea where your dagger went. This? No, it must just be a coincidence, I've had this forever....

When attuned, the bearer of  this +1 dagger deals an additional 1d6 damage as poison, has advantage on verbal Deception checks, and is cursed with the inability of answering any questions posed to them in a truthful manner. This weapon may only be unattuned while within the radius of a Zone of Truth spell.
