Got a Little Tail Today

I just got back from playing an awesome game with the whole school as part of recreation time in the gym. The students were divided into their grade levels and were told to place their gym towel in their pants so that half was tucked in and half hanging out. The part that was hanging out was the tail. Each team also chose a captain to carry a flag. At the announcer’s call, all the students took off running in a circle around the gym. The goal was to get other player’s tails while avoiding getting your own taken. Once your tail was pulled off, you were out. The winner was the team with the most amount of people left after 3 minutes who still had their captain.

It was a lot of fun, but I lost quickly each time. It seemed there was a certain amount of pride in getting a teacher’s tail, plus I just plain sucked. I can think of only one other time where I was swarmed with a sea of kids like that. Those little 4ft. rascals were fast. Despite my less than stellar performance, my team won all but one of the four bouts and we got a cool trophy to celebrate our victory. Woohoo..go 9th grade!
