My first week complete and I'm not fired!
This week thankfully built up slowly from Monday, where I had nothing to do, to Friday, where I had 4 classes to teach. I jumped around a lot, played a game where the students had to guess the letters in my first name, and played piano with varying degrees of success. It felt like 4 one-man mini-shows. It was all very performance-arty with lots of pantomime and without the emotional weight (then again...how much pathos can you convey when the only understood words are "hello," "goodbye," "see you," and "McDonalds"). I also had to give a speech introducing myself to the entire student body that was a little nerve-wracking. I'm exhausted. More details about my school routine for some other update...time to break out the bossa nova/lounge CD and take a bath.
