The Waiting Game

I find out if I get the job I wanted or not in a week. I have officially 'put all my eggs in one basket', which is actually a good thing here. Since only one company can sponsor you for a work visa at a time, I have signed a 'pre-contract,' meaning the company that I want to work for has enough confidence I will be approved by the board of education and are willing to start the visa process. I felt a pre-‘yay I got a job' post was in order.


My visa runs out next week. In order to avoid ending up on the wrong side of the authorities, I have to skip the country for a few days. I've decided to rough it out in Seoul. I was never interested in going to Korea before I got here, but I am really looking forward to it now. All I know about South Korea is their huge online gaming presence and kimchi, but I've talked to a lot of people who have gone and really enjoyed themselves. Here's hoping
