You Are Going to Run to Hell Next Month

My students cracked me up today.

My 8th graders are currently learning future tense, so I gave them slips of paper to write a fortune on. After a little skit where I don a turban, gaze into a crystal ball, and tell the Japanese teacher her fortune, the students draw names, draw a fortune from the slips and read it to each other.

I’ve been teaching this lesson for two weeks at my other high schools, and up until today the zaniest fortunes written were “You are going to fly to the moon tomorrow." or “You are going to clean my room next week."

Today, however, I had more advanced students. Some might say a little too advanced. Including the title of this post, here are some of my favorite predictions from today:
